ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE 2008 WINNERS OF THE EST SUMMER SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

The EST Summer School Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the 2008 winners. This year the recipients are Elisabet Tiselius and Alberto Fernández Costales. Both applied for a scholarship to attend the CETRA summer school seminar which will be held at Leuven, Belgium, in August 2008. The Committee congratulates the winners on behalf of the EST community.

Ms Tiselius is working under the supervision of Birgitta Englund Dimitrova at the University of Stockholm, Sweden, on the development of expertise in simultaneous interpretation. Mr Fernández Costales investigates videogame localization under the supervision of María Cristina Valdés at the University of Oviedo, Spain.

The Summer School Scholarship is part of EST’s efforts to help and encourage aspiring scholars. This year, the Committee selected candidates for two scholarships, one offered by EST and the other by CETRA.

The 2008 EST Summer School Scholarship Committee members are Alexandra Assis Rosa, Barbara Ahrens, Heidrun Gerzymisch–Arbogast, Gyde Hansen, Christiane Nord (chairperson), Franz Pöchhacker and Sonia Vandepitte.
