THE EST
TRANSLATION STUDIES LITERATURE GRANT Recognizing the vital importance
of TS literature to the field and problems many scholars and universities
worldwide have in gaining access to it, the European Society for Translation
Studies offers a yearly TS Literature Grant to help universities and
TS research centers purchase TS publications. The EST TS Literature Grant: Rules and Conditions §
1. All universities, faculties,
departments and research centers are eligible as applicants if at least one
of their teaching staff, researchers or graduate students is a paid-up EST
member. §
2. Applicants should send in an
application describing their TS activities, including a list of TS
publications, theses and/or dissertations with full references and abstracts
which will be put on the EST website after being edited if necessary, as well
as a list of literature items they need to purchase with explanations and
justifications as appropriate. §
3. Applications will be reviewed by a TS
Grant Committee which will be appointed by the EST Executive Board. §
4. Applications should be sent by
electronic mail and as a hard copy by mail to the Committee Chairperson (by a
date which will be specified in the relevant EST announcements). §
5. The Committee will review the applications
and select one or several grantees on the basis of available funds, the
applicant’s financial situation and the need demonstrated for financial
support, the applicant’s literature requirements and TS activity as
demonstrated in the application. §
6. As a rule, EST will order the
relevant items, have them shipped to the grantee(s) and pay the publisher or
