Hermeneutics in Translation Studies



The research group on hermeneutics in translation studies was founded by Radegundis Stolze (Technische Universität Darmstadt), John W. Stanley (Fachhochschule Köln) and Larisa Cercel (Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg). Its task is research, networking and exchange of ideas regarding the hermeneutical approach in translation studies.

Group projects

A book series has been started with the editor ZETA Books at Bucharest. The first volume of the series (Übersetzung und Hermeneutik – Traduction et herméneutique) was published in 2009.

A Newsletter on Hermeneutics and Translation gives regular information on activities and new publications in this field since 2009.

A Panel Hermeneutics as a research paradigm was held on 24 September 2010 at the 6th EST Congress in Leuven.

A Conference Hermeneutics and Translation Studies took place on 26/27 May 2011 at Cologne.
