Web Sites With TS Information and Publications

  • The proceedings of three recent MuTra conferences (High Level Scientific Multidimensional Translation Conferences) will be posted online. The first two, MuTRA: Challenges of Multidimensional Translation (Saarbrücken, 2-6 May 2005) and Audiovisual Translation Scenarios (Copenhagen, 1-5 May 2006), are already online at http://www.euroconferences.info/proceedings/proceedings.php . The proceedings of the third conference, LSP Translation Scenarios (Vienna, 30 April-4 May 2007), are under preparation.
  • The Danish TS scholar Cay Dollerup has opened a new site at http://www.cay-dollerup.dk . The site contains personal information, but also full texts to download. (3.8.2007)
  • The University of Tampere publishes theses online at http://acta.uta.fi
  • The Karl-Franzens Universität Graz has an interesting site with much information, links and a list of publications, including theses and dissertations, at http://www-gewi.kfuni-graz.ac.at.uedo
  • A personal site by conference interpreter Andrew Gillies, ITR, Interpreter Training Resources, offers guidance and indications about the literature: http://interpreters.free.fr
  • JAIS, the Japan Association for Interpretation Studies, has an excellent Web site, full of information on professional, training and research issues. Mostly on interpreting but some on translation as well. In Japanese. http://wwwsoc.nii.ac.jp/jais/index.html
  • CIRIN, the Conference Interpreting Research Information Network, provides information on recent publications on conference interpreting, including micro-reviews: http://www.cirinandgile.com
  • WATA, the World Arab Translators’ Association, has a website in Arabic only : www.arabicwata.org  with an online journal
  • The Universidad Europea de Madrid has posted on line the proceedings of its IV Conference on Training and Career Development in Translation and Interpreting : Quality in Translation – Academic and Professional Perspectives : http://www.uem.es/web/fil/invest/publicaciones/web/INDEX.HTM
  • Australian translator Ali Darwish’s homepage at http://www.at-turjuman.com contains articles, interviews, reviews and other interesting material, in particular concerning Arabic translation.
  • The Korean Society of Conference Interpretation at www.ksci.or.kr has a site with links to two journals, Forum and Conference Interpretation and Translation with downloadable texts.
  • The Literary Translators’ Association of Canada at http://www.attlc-ltac.org offers access to its newsletter, Transmission and to other content relevant to literary translation.
  • Translation Directory.com is defined as a portal for Freelance Translators and Translation agencies, but also posts articles, more than 1000 in June 2006, on professional issues, but also on theoretical issues. http://www.translationdirectory.com
